Under the Building Act (1993) all Landscapers performing structural landscaping works are legally required to be licensed with the Victorian Building Authority as a RBP for both commercial or domestic work.
Using a Registered Building Practitioner means you are engaging a professional who is qualified, knowledgeable, experienced, registered with the Victorian Building Authority and, importantly, covered by the appropriate insurance.
In Victoria, only Registered Building Practitioners can meet the legal requirements to carry out structural landscaping over $5,000. A contract must be entered into for all works over $5,000 and domestic building insurance is compulsory for all works over $16,000.
